Have a Say

Have Your Say

If you'd like to pass on some feedback, there are loads of ways you can do it!

Reach out to the Student Executive

The Exec are a group of 13 student reps who act as UCSA's governing body, helping to make sure we're for students, by students. They also sit on close to 45 boards and committees across the University.

Get in touch:

  • Contact the Exec directly with your questions or feedback (they're super friendly).
  • Head along to an Exec Committee/governance meeting. They take place every fortnight during term-time. Just send us an email before coming along – we’ll need to confirm the meeting time and venue.

Check out Suggestion Box

Suggestion Box is a new online tool for you to let us know about any initiatives or changes you want to see the UCSA implement, whether it’s about our policy, our services, or a wider campus issue you’re passionate about.

Compliments or complaints

We now have an online form for feedback. View it here.

Vote or run in the UCSA elections

Every year in term 3, students get the opportunity to run for the Executive in the UCSA election, and to vote for their preferred representatives. The UCSA has the highest voter turnout of any students’ association in Australasia – let’s keep it going!

AGMs

We hold an AGM in term 2 and a half AGM in term 3 each year, and all students are encouraged to attend. Students are also welcome to submit agenda items (refer to the UCSA Constitution for timeframes).

Keep an eye on our website and social media for dates and deadlines.

Class reps

These student reps act as liaisons between classes and lecturers. Each class should have its own elected or volunteer class rep, whose task is to be the first point of contact for students to help resolve class issues at a low level, and thereby help to avoid bigger problems later. Class Reps are trained and will offer guidance and support for their classmates on general course issues. This includes things which the whole class has issues with. They can help you communicate your issues to the lecturer and also provide feedback to the relevant departments about how things are going with your course.

The UCSA run Class Rep Feedback Forums once per semester to provide an effective channel of communication between students in the Colleges and the UCSA Executive, and these are a great way for the UCSA to hear about what is going on.

To find your class rep, or to volunteer, visit our student support page.

Advisory groups: International, Postgraduate, and Equity and Wellbeing

These three advisory groups are responsible for providing student feedback to the UCSA Exec, and any other relevant party, to help strengthen the student voice and experience. Learn more about the groups here.

Surveys

We want to make sure that we’re providing the best possible services for students, so we often ask for your feedback. Keep an eye out for our annual student survey in term 4, plus our smaller ad hoc opinion polls on Facebook.
