DESCRIPTION:We are joining the movement to Kōrero Mai\, Kōrero Atu\, Mauri Tū\, Mauri Ora – Speak up\, Stand Together\, Stop Bullying! Will you join us?  \n  \nCelebrated annually around the globe\, Pink Shirt Day began in Canada in 2007 when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying\, after a peer was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. In Aotearoa\, Pink Shirt Day works to create schools\, workplaces\, communities and whānau where everyone feels safe\, valued and respected. \nOn Pink Shirt Day\, Aotearoa comes together to take a stand against bullying and celebrate diversity in all its forms by supporting schools\, workplaces\, and communities to be safe\, supportive\, welcoming\, and inclusive of all. \nDid you know Aotearoa has the third-highest rate of school bullying out of 36 OECD countries\, that one in 10 workers feels discriminated against\, harassed\, or bullied at work and that our rainbow (LGBTQIA+) communities face even higher rates of bullying?  Studies show people who are bullied are more likely to experience mental health issues\, such as depression\, anxiety\, and suicidal thoughts. \n  \nWe encourage you to wear pink to show that you are taking a stand against bullying. DESCRIPTION:Bands are back for Week 3 of Mono Nights! \n\nMake sure you wear pink to celebrate Pink Shirt Day May 20th. \n\nDolphin Friendly’s live performance quickly became an acclaimed ground-breaking phenomenon for the New Zealand live music scene\, with the band relentlessly touring their jaw dropping show of hard Rock N’ Roll antics\, allowing them to quickly climb the ladder to gaining status as being one of the best emerging rock acts of New Zealand.\n\nWithin two years of the bands inception\, they have charged the New Zealand music scene aggressively\, having played some genuine feats such as Bay Dreams\, Rhythm and Vines\, Electric Avenue\, Soundsplash\, and opening for Kiwi and Aussie thumpers Shapeshifter\, Lime Cordiale\, Skegss\, Bootleg Rascal\, Jungle Giants\, L.A.B and Mako Road.\n\nCurrently one of the most active NZ hip hop artists on the live circuit\, ‘The Underground King’ aka Big Sima is no stranger to the big stage. DESCRIPTION:Between Each Other is a group exhibition presented by third year sculpture students from the Ilam School of Fine Arts\, Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha. \nThe students’ research emerges from surveying the coexisting space between selected content\, intersecting with the work of two other artists. Looking out to external influences and modes of practice raises the question: ‘are we operating as independently as we feel we are? What am I intersecting and what is intersecting me? Acknowledging that a research practice coexists with a multitude of exterior and interior elements all influencing each other reciprocally played an important role in the production of this group exhibition. \n  \nHeld in the Ilam Campus Gallery\, 10am – 4pm daily.

Frequently pushing that sensual sweet-spot between genres\, Cut Snake’s rough and ready party vibes come out of the studio with slick sonic edges\, holding their own just as well at banging peak-time as at a lazy afternoon poolside sesh.\nHaving spent the first decade of his career as a pro surfer\, Cut Snake’s Leigh ‘Sedz’ Sedley got into dance music while touring the world for surf contests\, inspired by the underground scenes in each country he visited. The career transition from beach to beats was remarkably smooth. Whilst waiting for waves he fine-tuned his production skills from beachfront bungalows\, giving his music its unique taste: fresh as\, and just a little salty.\n\nRaised on Australia’s Gold Coast\, Cut Snake was originally a duo between Sedz himself and childhood friend Paul ‘Fish’ Fisher until 2018. Sly Chaos is a Drum & bass duo with Conor Till & Michael Enderby.\n\nThe two have started to make quite the name for themselves\, quickly rising through the ranks. They have had the opportunity to play alongside some of the biggest names in drum and bass and they have worked with a huge number of promoters around New Zealand\, building up quite an impressive resume. They’ve supported some of the biggest artist in the game such as Andy C\, Friction\, Pendulum\, Wilkinson\, The Upbeats\, AMC\, Black Sun Empire and Hybrid Minds – just to name a few. It’ 2022 and the lads are showing no signs of slowing down. Since releasing their debut track 22 months ago\, they’ve dropped 15 tunes with 7 of them being in the NZ top 20 charts. They also have countless tracks and collaborations in the works\, multiple tours on the way and have plans to cross over the ditch mid year! Let’s just say this year will be their biggest yet.\n\nIn support we welcome MYLEN.\nHailing from Auckland\, Mylen has built his name on infectious melodies and dance floor energy. With more summer releases and another run of New Zealand’s biggest festivals on the way. And what better way to kick off the year than with a free snag or veggie patty on the lawn outside Haere-roa? \nGrab a beanbag\, sit back and relax in the sun while listening to some groovy tunes from TuneSoc. We will bring the food to you! \nSee you there! \n  \nAll UCSA O.Week ’22 activations have been organised to comply with the Red setting of the Covid Protection Framework. Including:  \n\nVaccination passports are required at all events\nFace coverings are mandatory for staff and attendees except when eating and drinking\nContact Tracing will be in place at all events via QR Code or Manual entry  \nWhen food and drink is served\, all attendees must be seated to be served \nHand sanitiser & soap available in high traffic areas\n\nAttendees to stay at home if they are:  \n\nunwell \nwaiting for a COVID-19 test result \nself-isolating \nA confirmed or probable case of COVID-19
