Dia de los Muertos, known in English as Day of the Dead, is a Mexican tradition that can be traced to more than 3000 years ago. UC Spanish Club invites everyone in the community to attend our exhibition and learn about the history behind this unique tradition. Come and see the beautiful and colourful altar dedicated to our loved ones who have passed away.
One of the traditions includes putting a photo of your passed loved one- and we are welcoming everyone to come and place their photos in the altar.
We will also be skull-face painting and dedicating a small period each day to do the Nahuatl prayer- Check our day programme for the date and time.
Day of the Dead is a happy, family-friendly celebration, where everything is colourful and cheerful.
Our exhibition is open for 3 days, you may attend at any time during the opening hours.
On the 3rd day, when the celebration concludes we will give away the fruit, bread and sweets that was offered in the altar.
