Women in Business Talk Podcasts, Workshops and Confidence

With Clubs Day fast approaching, we’re getting to know who’s who on campus. This week it’s UC Women in Business, a club with a few Supreme Club Awards under their belts and a mission to grow and connect confident women!

How would you describe your club to newbies?

WIB: We’re a club designed for all things women and business. We are collaborative, and committed to creating a community of confident and capable women at UC.

What do you offer students?

WIB: An abundance of events and workshops from LinkedIn to Investment Workshops to our bigger events like Power Panels involving amazing women. We even have our own podcast, ‘Down to Business’ where we talk to guests who are absolutely killing it in their respective fields, from food to fashion, health and sustainability. A few highlights were Brianne West from Ethique and Maggie Hewitt from label Maggie Marilyn.

Best club memory?

WIB: Having ‘Shit You Should Care About’ Founder Lucy Blakiston speak at our grand launch last year. It was cool to hear about behind-the-scenes and what they’re all about.

It was also amazing meeting a lot of new faces through events and workshops. UC WIB is about connecting women together in different environments and we are excited to do so again in 2022.

What events do you run?

WIB: We are not limited in what we run. However, some include Job Ready Workshops, Workouts with WIB, Quiz Nights and panel-style events!

UCSA also has a Club Database online – there are around 130 clubs and societies to choose from!
