Mental Health Awareness Week 2020

Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) is on the 21st to the 27th of September, and this year’s theme is focused on “Reimagining Wellbeing Together, He Tirohanga Anamata”.

This annual campaign is all about raising awareness and reducing the stigma that exists around Mental Health.

To celebrate MHAW, the UC Community are holding a heap of events on campus and we’d love you to be there.

Wellbeing Expo (will only proceed in alert level 1 or below)

Wednesday 23rd September, 12-2pm
Haere-roa
Featuring a variety of wellbeing services and stalls, bbq, live music and care packs (first 100 attendees).
A prize draw (be at the expo to enter!)
Prizes include: Massage vouchers (from the Rec Centre), $100 UBS voucher (donated by TEU), 2 tickets to Mount John Observatory (tour and dinner), Himalayan salt lamp, plus loads more!

Lunchtime Seminars
Mon 21st – Friday 25th, 12pm – 1pm
Undercroft Room 101

Tues: Professor Neville Blampied, The Importance of Sleep for Wellbeing
Thurs: Professor Katharina Naswall, Wellbeing – Supporting your own and others.
Fri: Professional Julia Rucklidge, Practical suggestions for improving your mental health under stress.

Take a Mate for Coffee
Wednesday 23rd September
Turn up at the cash desk with your mate and get two hot drinks for the price of one!
Participating UCSA cafes include Nuts and Bolts in Engineering Core, The Foundry in Haere-roa, and Collective at Dovedale.
It’s valid for any hot drinks – the cheapest order is the free one. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers. Only valid on 23 September 2020.
