CUSSC on snow, doof and Temple Basin

Skis: waxed
Froth: high
Temple: Basin

UC’s Snow Sports Club, or CUSSC, is all about snowboarding, skiing and having a helluva time in the mountains. We caught up with them to see what they’re planning for ’22. (Check out the sign up link below to get amongst.)

How would you describe your club to newbies?

We’re the club your parents warned you about before they kissed you off to uni. Shred. Doof. Repeat.

What do you offer students?

We’ve got our own ski-in, ski-out 50 bunk lodge at Temple Basin Skifield! Home of rad events and radder people.

Members of CUSSC have access to the cheapest skiing in New Zealand (Temple Basin Season passes on sale now for only $160), as well as exclusive deals at Bivouac Outdoor and discounts on ski passes for other club fields. Our Temple Basin lodge is equipped with hot showers, a full size kitchen and a doof room suitable for cutting the craziest of shapes. We also have loads of off-mountain events for members to sink their teeth into.

Best club memory?

Waking up the morning of Biv Freeride after a huge lightning storm and party to see fresh pow and blue skies.

What events do you run?

Weekend and week-long ski events including our freeride competition ($2k in prizes last year), trampoline nights, movie nights, bus parties…

Does CUSSC sound like a bit of you? Sign up online – it’s easy-as. You can also follow them on FacebookInstagram or through their website.

And if you’d like to see what else the club scene has to offer, check out UCSA’s Club Database – there are around 130 to choose from.
