Your Academic Voice: Update 1

Here’s the first of the UCSA Academic Updates for 2020 – it’s going to be a big year for the student voice so make sure you check these out regularly to find out what we’re  doing on your behalf.

Exec Induction

Your 2020 Exec hit the ground running with a session on academic representation at their recent Induction. This will ensure your student voice and representation is as robust as ever! They’ve since been introducing themselves to key staff in the Colleges and UC, and attending their first meetings, so it’s all go.

Online Course Creation

UC have introduced a new online course creation tool that means that the UCSA will now see and be able to provide feedback on all courses coming through for approval. This is a really positive step forward for the student voice!

Class Reps 2020

We put a lot of work into making sure our Class Reps were heard over 2019, including surveying them at the end of the year to get feedback on the workshops we ran so that we can improve these for 2020. We want to ensure they’re an effective channel of communication between students in the College and the UCSA Executive. We can’t wait to build momentum with these this year, and we’d hugely encourage you to get involved!  Check out more on Class Reps here.

Advisory Groups

We have a record number of students involved in the three UCSA Advisory Groups – International, Postgraduate and Equity and Wellbeing. These Advisory Groups meet twice a term and are another avenue to get input and ideas from passionate students who are committed to making a difference to student life at UC. You can see more on our Advisory Groups here.
